Appeals

Janove PLLC represents clients in appellate courts across the country. Leveraging experience as a former clerk on the U.S. Court of Appeals for Third Circuit, Raphael Janove has written briefs in high-stake appeals involving global warming, arbitration, and securities laws.

Raphael recently argued on behalf of Plaintiffs on a motion to compel arbitration in his class action against Warner Bros. about the Game of Thrones: Conquest mobile game. Video of the argument is available here. Raphael begins at about the ten-minute mark.

Raphael has also written amicus briefs in the U.S. Supreme Court on behalf of members of U.S. Congress in support of the EPA’s authority to regulate greenhouse gases and climate change, on behalf of major institutional investors ensuring that the law protects against securities fraud, and on behalf of the Giffords Law Center about the role social media plays in hate-motivated gun violence.

The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit also recently cited an amicus brief Raphael co-authored on behalf of an expert in support of New York’s gun control laws.

In his pro bono practice, Raphael represents a habeas petitioner in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit.

Janove PLLC advocates for consumers, workers, and small business owners.
